Note that the barrel and its arbor rotate clockwise in order to rotate the center wheel and hands anti-clockwise.

Unwinding Relative to the Arbor Wheel:
the barrel rotates clockwise.

Winding Relative to the Barrel:
the arbor rotates clockwise.
