Video files of repeaters
These videos of repeaters striking have been produced for use in conjunction with Watkins "The Repeater" and Crespe "Essay on Repeater Watches". They are intentionally large files in order to retain sufficient quality.
There are three videos:
Continental quarter repeater. This is the old design that uses a chain to operate the repeater from the pendant.
Minute repeater. A modern design from a circa 1900 watch.
Decimal repeater. A design from a circa 1747 watch that counts in ten minute intervals instead of the usual 15 minute intervals.
