The Art of Making Watch Mainsprings, Repeater Springs and Balance Springs

by

William Blakey

Illustration from the book

First published in 1780, this book gives a detailed description of how watch springs were made in the 18th century.

This is my fourth translation on the topic of verge watch making. The previous three are available in the books Berthoud and Auch "How to Make a Verge Watch" and Vigniaux "Practical Watchmaking". Blakey's book complements those previously published.

The book has 55 pages and is arranged for double-sided printing.
